Greg Schiano spent a decade making Rutgers relevant in college football at the start of the century. Now he is back in an attempt to do the same thing once again.

Schiano is in the honeymoon phase of the job and had an interesting quote during his introductory press conference.

Fans may remember Schiano almost getting the Tennessee job back in 2017 before a fan revolt on social media caused the school to go back on its decision. It's safe to suggest he doesn't hold Vols fans in the highest regard given the fallout.

In the end it all worked out for Schiano. He returns to Rutgers as a hero and expectations will be low given the state of the program.

His quick jab at Tennessee will likely have Vols fans mad for a day or two, but that program is on the rise with Jeremy Pruitt. Essentially, it all worked out in the long run.

Schiano's goal now is to get Rutgers not only out of the basement of the Big Ten. The team has not been to a bowl since 2014 and has not won more than four games in a season during that span.

The Rutgers job was always available for Schiano if he wanted it back. Finally, he's back where he belongs.
