With the recent news that Arizona Diamondbacks' starter Madison Bumgarner has long been competing in rodeos under the alias "Mason Saunders," the baseball world exploded with internet jokes. Turns out, some of those goofs are now manifesting in real life.

The San Francisco Giants' Single-A affiliate, the San Jose Giants, have already taken to trolling Bumgarner, a former Giant, with a midsummer promotion. On June 5, the Giants from San Jose will be having a 'Mason Saunders Night' for fans.

The press release unveiled by the team on Tuesday encouraged fans to either dress up as their alter ego, or in a rodeo outfit, to win prizes and tickets to future games. Matt Alongi, the team's vice president of marketing, started his comment on the promotion with a joke by saying, "This ain't our first rodeo."

This promotion has no malicious intent, though. He continued by saying that this is a true celebration of Bumgarner's accomplishments both with the organization and in rodeos. He finished off with one last joke by saying he hopes "Mason will be able to join us."

It has only been two months since Bumgarner ended his 11-year career in San Francisco by signing a five-year, $85 million contract with their division rival Diamondbacks, but his former employers have wasted no time in playing some jokes on him.

It's all in good fun, and hopefully Bumgarner, or Mason Saunders, can make a guest appearance at the special event honoring him.
