New York Yankees offseason acquisition Gerrit Cole made his first televised Spring Training start on Saturday against the Detroit Tigers, and man, did he put on a show for the fans. Think everyone will be excited for this come Opening Day?

He showed off a top-tier curveball that could even deceive the 2017 Houston Astros as well as a 96 mph fastball that he blew by Tigers hitters in his short outing.

Cole exited the game to a standing ovation from the crowd at George M. Steinbrenner Field in Tampa after going 2.2 innings and striking out two batters. He allowed only two hits.

The hype around Cole is very real and his nine-year, $324 million contract proves exactly why. Fans finally getting to see him show off his elite arsenal on TV has to feel good despite all that's happened to the Yankees this spring.
