One of the Georgia Bulldogs' most valuable players on offense may have just shot his team in the foot at the most inopportune of times.

Standout wide receiver George Pickens will be suspended for the first half of next Saurday's SEC Championship Game against LSU after he was ejected for his role in a fight against Georgia Tech on Saturday.

The Bayou Bengals are phenomenal team as it is; the last thing the Bulldogs needed heading into this game was to give them an advantage they might not have needed at all.

Pickens has been an integral part of Georgia's offensive attack all season long. He entered rivalry weekend with 457 receiving yards and five touchdowns, and he added a 41-yard touchdown reception against Tech before his ejection.

But with the suspension, quarterback Jake Fromm will be down a target for the first 30 minutes of what is undoubtedly his team's biggest game of the year.

Multiple targets, in fact. Receiver Lawrence Cager was already injured before the game, and running back D'Andre Swift got hurt during the contest.

If the offense sputters in the first half and the Dawgs fall just short of a win, then there's little doubt that Pickens will shoulder at least some of the blame for not being out on the field in the first place.
