Georgia Starting OL Isaiah Wilson Could Miss Several Weeks After Suffering Injury in Practice
By Scott Rogust
The Georgia Bulldogs could be without one of their consistent players at the line of scrimmage for some time.
According to Dawg247's Rusty Mansell, offensive lineman Isaiah Wilson suffered a lower leg sprain during practice on Wednesday. While no specific details were released, the expectation is that Wilson will be out the next four-to-five weeks.
Ironically, Wilson left Georgia's season opener against Vanderbilt with a minor injury, forcing him to miss a few plays. It's unknown if that ailment was linked to Wednesday's injury.
Wilson's absence will be felt for sure, as he's started the past 15 games for the Bulldogs. The offensive lineman was a premier prospect in the 2017 recruiting class, ranked 16th in the nation and the best recruit in all of New York.
Fortunately for Georgia, they have a bevy of depth when it comes to the offensive line. Cade Mays will likely assume the right tackle position with Wilson out for this Saturday's game against Murray State. Jamaree Salyer could also be an option for head coach Kirby Smart, as he took backup reps behind Wilson during practice, according to DawgNation.com.
While Wilson's injury stings, Georgia appears more than ready to play without their top offensive lineman.
