Tough news for football fans in Athens, but Georgia Bulldogs QB Jake Fromm is ready for the next stage of his football career.

Fromm is leaving Georgia, forgoing his final season of eligibility for the NFL. The 2020 draft class is fairly loaded at the QB position, and while Tua Tagovailia's decision to go pro despite injury concerns could have a dramatic impact on signal callers like Fromm who likely have a late first-round grade at best, the Warner Robins native is not deterred.

Georgia fans grew sour on Fromm and offensive coordinator James Coley late in the 2019 campaign, but the Bulldogs ended their season in style with a 26-14 win over Baylor in the Sugar Bowl. Evidently, that was all Fromm needed to end his Georgia career on a high note.

Fromm's move to the professional ranks does leave Georgia in a pickle with no obvious replacement on the roster. Sure, Stetson Bennett has looked decent at times, with former 4-star recruits D'Wan Mathis and Carson Beck right behind him on the depth chart, but there will be a wide open quarterback competition in Athens come Spring Practice.

As for Fromm, we know Dawg Nation will be wishing him the best in the NFL.
