Georgia Star Anthony Edwards to Stop Signing Autographs Due to Coronavirus
By Jack Murphy

As the coronavirus outbreak is growing more and more into a nation and worldwide concern, we have seen many athletes taking precautions to avoid the highly effective disease. Georgia's Anthony Edwards is the latest example of someone who is being very mindful of the spread of COVID-19.
Edwards announced via Twitter that he will not be signing autograph or shaking the hands of the fans in the stands.
I appreciate all my fans and everybody that is supporting me. Due to the Corona Virus, I will not be signing autographs or shaking hands for the time being.

As the coronavirus already has more than 98,000 confirmed cases worldwide, this is an infectious disease that should not be taken lightly. Many fans may be irritated by the fact they cannot get an autograph from their team's star player, but they should understand how he is just being mindful of his health.
Edwards joins a long list of ways the sports world has reacted to the coronavirus scare. We have seen MLB teams autograph balls in the dugouts and throw them into the stands to avoid contact with fans. Also, Italy has announced that all sporting events will have take place in empty stadiums.

As the end of this outbreak does not seem to be on the horizon, this might just be the beginning of athletes trying to protect themselves from the fatal disease.
