College football scouts were well aware that the commitment decision of 4-star defensive end Zykeivous Walker was impending, but it's fair to say that the majority of their predictions were erroneous.

On Friday evening, Walker announced that he will be taking his talents to Auburn, after some prospect databases forecasted the young DE to play for Kirby Smart at Georgia.

After all, Walker went to Athens last week for his fourth and final official visit ahead of his anticipated declaration.

Ironically enough, Waker is the seventh recruit from the state of Georgia (Ellaville) to commit to Auburn for the 2020 season. The ever-reliable 247Sports rankings rate him as the No. 9 overall DE prospect in his class, and No. 159 overall.

To say that Walker was a world-beater for Schely County High School in 2019 would be underselling his production. In 12 games, Walker tallied 85 tackles (55 solo, 29 for losses), 11 sacks, three forced fumbles, 22 quarterback hurries and one blocked punt.

He was even a factor on the offensive side of the ball, amassing 170 yards on 37 carries for five touchdowns, adding 10 receptions for 132 yards and a score.

Things obviously won't come as easy at the collegiate level, but it's fair to say that Gus Malzahn and the rest of Auburn's coaching staff has poached an absolute stud.
