Former Packers Super Bowl MVP Desmond Howard Asks for Refs to Be Investigated After Lions Game

There was very little to like about the controversial fourth quarter of Packers-Lions on Tuesday night (or, at least, the narratives surrounding it).

The throws made by Aaron Rodgers, working with a depleted core of weapons, were spectacular. However, we were robbed of a chance to discuss them on Tuesday morning by an extended sequence of incompetent calls, most blatantly two Trey Flowers hands to the face penalties that were unearned.

Among those calling for the referees to be checked on was current ESPN college football analyst and ex-Packer Desmond Howard.

Even he knows the victory wasn't entirely on the level (and, it's worth noting, he did star for Michigan, too).

Howard went on to try to extol Rodgers' high-level ability, in an effort to rise above the noise.

Aaron Rodgers' Packers are in a place in the standings where I'm quite sure we'll get some postseason chances to bow down to him this year. Don't feel too bad about this missed opportunity, all things considered.

If there's a full-on referee investigation, however, let me know.
