On Thursday morning in East Akron, Ohio, the older brother of former Ohio State Buckeyes running back Chris "Beanie" Wells, Joel Paul Wells, was reportedly shot to death.

Police responded to a report of a shooting around Seventh Avenue and Weeks Street. Wells' family identified him as the victim of the shooting, as John Paul was found lying in a driveway with a gunshot wound to the head.

As of right now, the shooter responsible for killing Wells has not been found or arrested. The Summit County Crimestoppers are offering a $5,000 reward to anyone who has information that leads to an arrest of the shooter.

Beanie Wells himself is offering a $15,000 reward on top of the reward the local crimestoppers are handing out to anyone who can help find the killer.

Wells played three seasons at Ohio State from 2006-2008. During his time with the Buckeyes, Wells' best season came in 2007 where he rushed for 1,609 yards and 15 touchdowns.

He was later drafted by the Arizona Cardinals with the 31st overall pick and played four seasons in the NFL. Wells' career ended after being cut by Arizona and then tearing his ACL in a workout with the Baltimore Ravens in 2013.
