Former Manchester United manager tried to sign Erling Haaland

This would have completely changed everything. Prior to last season, Manchester City landed Erling Haaland and he has been one of the best players on the planet for the English Premier League giants. As it turns out, he almost joined a different squad.
Former Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer actually tried to sign the striker back in 2018, but he was turned down by the board. This is yet another massive mistake from Ed Woodward, who is no longer with the club.
🔴🇳🇴 Solskjær: “The summer before I got to Man United I rang them and said: you’ve got to sign Erling Haaland. He will be top. Absolutely top class”.

“That was June, July 2018… they said: nah, we’ve got enough reports”, told @WeAreTheOverlap. pic.twitter.com/zp0Y8cBol0
United recently signed Rasmus Hojlund, but had Haaland made his way to town, it would have been a big blow for MCFC. Now, United fans have to watch Haaland do wonderful things for the club's biggest rivals. Ouch.
