Former #LSU defensive back Kelvin Joseph is transferring to Kentucky. He begins class in Lexington tomorrow. Enormous get for @coachclink, both as a recruiter and position coach https://t.co/jcXkniWB0s
Joseph was a highly-regarded prospect and even received offers from Clemson and Alabama.
He only spent one year at LSU and impressed after he was the 42nd ranked prospect in the class of 2018. Joseph played in every game during his freshman season, but missed the Fiesta Bowl because he violated team rules.
The Florida Gators and Auburn Tigers were among the schools in consideration, but ultimately Kentucky impressed him the most. The Wildcats lost all but one starter in their secondary so Joseph will have a great chance to earn a starting spot in 2020.
In 2020, Kentucky's defense will add five-star DT Justin Rogers, #Rivals100 DB Kelvin Joseph who played extensively for LSU/DBU, and returns budding star Davonte Robinson following rehab. Enormous influx of talent. 2019 is here, but 2020 could be "the big one". pic.twitter.com/c7GhRSKh1q

The 2020 part is key, because he will be unable to play in 2019 unless the NCAA gives him a waiver to play. Despite the wait, the Wildcats are starting to look like a team that will be dangerous in 2020.
