We have a bit of an NFL comeback on our hands here.

Despite not playing at all last season, former Super Bowl champion safety T.J. Ward will reportedly work out for the Jacksonville Jaguars and intends to play this season, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

This is the first time in well over a year the two-time Pro Bowler has worked out for a team, that we know of.

The last time he played was in 2017 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, playing in 12 games (five starts) and racking up 41 combined tackles and one fumble recovery.

Jacksonville's depth at the safety position is certainly thin, as they released Tashaun Gipson back in March. Heading into Week 1, Ronnie Harrison and Jarrod Wilson are their slotted starters for the 2019 season.

If Ward can impress in his tryout, there's a chance the 32-year-old could latch on in Jacksonville and get back to his craft with the Jaguars.

Across his eight-year career, Ward logged eight interceptions, 590 tackles, 8.5 sacks and 10 forced fumbles. The former Oregon Duck spent his first four seasons with the Browns who drafted him in the second round back in 2010.
