Former 5-Star Michigan DL Aubrey Solomon Granted Immediate Eligibility at Tennessee
By Scott Rogust

While Virginia Tech's Brock Hoffman saw his waiver for immediate eligibility denied Tuesday, the Tennessee Volunteers received good news on that same front.
According to the latest reports, Michigan transfer and former five-star defensive line prospect Aubrey Solomon was granted immediate eligibility by the NCAA to play at Tennessee this season.

Solomon was a high-profile recruit landed by Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh in 2017. In his freshman season, he recorded 16 tackles, 2 of which went for a loss. However, his sophomore campaign was marred by a knee injury that required surgery, resulting in the player requesting a transfer to a new school after just five games.
The defensive lineman officially transferred to Tennessee this past January, and submitted his eligibility waiver in April.

With Solomon cleared to play, he is expected to make an immediate impact on Jeremy Pruitt's defense. The 6-5, 300-pound beast will fill a void left by Emmitt Gooden, who suffered a season-ending knee injury earlier this month. In fact, Solomon was working with the first-team defensive line during spring practice.
Solomon will likely be in the starting lineup this Saturday when the Vols take on the Georgia State Panthers in their season opener.
