Florida's Idiotic Mistake at the Start of Game vs Georgia May Have Cost Them
By Michael Luciano

There are a multitude of reasons that Dan Mullen and Florida once again failed to take down Kirby Smart and Georgia on neutral ground this year, among them Kyle Trask regressing to the mean, the inability of their defense to get off the field on third down, and just a good, old-fashioned talent discrepancy.
Mullen certainly didn't help matters with his comical blunder early, however, as he called two timeouts on the opening drive. The reason? The Gators had the wrong wristbands on.

It's because the Gators had the wrong playcall wristbands.

That sounds like something out of a spoof movie, not an actual game for all the marbles.
It's unfair to lay into Mullen too much, as he has managed to win 17 of his 22 games as Florida head coach since coming over from Mississippi State. He's also won these games with Trask and Feleipe Franks as his quarterbacks.
However, Mullen has to start beating Georgia eventually, as that's simply a prerequisite for a post-Spurrier Florida coach.
Georgia fans should appreciate this one.

Dan Mullen was asked how far his program is behind Georgia at this point.
"Seven points... We’re seven points behind Georgia.”

Mullen is performing at a much higher level than Will Muschamp ever did, but he needs to sort out the wristband situation and figure out Kirby Smart's defense eventually, lest he descend into Jim McElwain and Ron Zook territory.
