FC Cincinnati Announces Former Manchester United Star Jaap Stamm as Manager With Photo of Wrong Guy
By Sam Dunn

Jaap Stamm ain't exactly nobody. One of the top defenders in global soccer during his prime years with PSV, Manchester United, and Lazio, he later transitioned to coaching, leading teams in England and his native Netherlands as manager. His newest challenge? A move to MLS as boss of young side FC Cincinnati.
This should have been an unconditional cause for celebration. Unfortunately, FC Cincy's Twitter accompanied the news with a photo of a man who is... not Jaap Stamm.

Yeah, that's just some random bald guy, folks. Cursory internet research suggests an old Getty Images photo mistakenly labeled this mystery man as Jaap Stamm.
He is not Jaap Stamm.
Kudos to Cincinnati's Eastern Conference rivals for dunking on them here. We're sure Jason Statham and Mark Strong would be terrifically talismanic presences on the sideline in Major League Soccer. Just kicking a ball into a net can't be that difficult.
FC Cinci dutch revolution continues. Club hire Jaap Stam, former Man Utd defender and Dutch International. Crunching tackles, coming to a sideline near you. https://t.co/U9cnicqFjZ

The intended 2020 MLS season did not have a chance to start thanks to the threat of COVID-19, but at the very least, one humble franchise reminded us today that there is zero offseason for the world's game when there's trolling to be done.
