In what seems to be a new trend for the Kansas City Chiefs organization, former fan favorite WR Dwayne Bowe will be signing a one-day contract to retire with the team.

This comes just a couple of weeks after Jamaal Charles, one of the greatest running backs in the history of the team, signed a one-day contract to retire in the city that once embraced him as well. Certainly a classy act that the organization is doing here.

Dwayne Bowe Stats

Bowe played eight seasons with the Chiefs from 2007-2014 after he was selected 23rd overall in '07 draft out of LSU. In 118 career games, Bowe accumulated 532 receptions for 7,155 yards and 44 touchdowns. The clutch receiver was critical to several solid Kansas City teams, and was a favorite target of former Chiefs QB Alex Smith.

Bowe played one season with the Browns in 2015 before retiring after that year, but he will certainly always be remembered as a Kansas City Chief. Bowe finishes his career third all-time in receiving yards, second in receptions, and fifth in touchdowns for the Chiefs.

Congratulations on an excellent career, Dwayne Bowe. Once a Chief, always a Chief.
