Seemingly out of nowhere, the Atlanta Falcons have made a head-turning roster move.

After having him as their kicker for 11 seasons, the Falcons have released Matt Bryant and replaced him with Younghoe Koo.

The Falcons let go of Bryant after he went 9-of-14 on his field goal attempts this season.

The team released him after the 2018 season, but brought him back just before this season after team kicking struggles.

Bryant, 44, is a career 85.6% field goal kicker and helped the Falcons achieve great success over the last decade plus. His biggest moment came when he kicked a 49-yard field goal to defeat the Seattle Seahawks in the 2012 NFC Divisional Round. He also likely would've iced Super Bowl LI were it not for some offensive mismanagement.

Bryant is also the Falcons' all-time leading scorer with 1,163 points, which is especially saying something considering he had to pass Morten Anderson, the second-leading scorer in NFL history. Bryant sits at 13th all-time on the NFL's points list.

Koo played four career games with the Chargers in 2017. He converted all nine of his extra point tries, but converted only three of six field goal attempts. He played for the AAF's Atlanta Legends this season before the Patriots signed him to their practice squad and subsequently released him earlier this month.
