Johnson left a lasting mark on the program during his time there from 2014 to 2017. He accumulated 949 receiving yards on 81 catches across four years with the Trojans, and he even helped lead them to two bowl games.
He was hailed by teammates and coaches alike as a leader on the field, and he always showed up when it mattered most. In 2017, Johnson caught a touchdown pass and completed a two-point conversion attempt to help win the New Orleans Bowl 50-30 over North Texas.
Today is a tough day for the Troy community, as we continue to remember the life of John Johnson (@SwerveBoiii_).

I never knew John, but from what I saw and heard, it was evident he loved Troy and Troy loved him.
You are forever a legend of Troy, John. https://t.co/byvBmhzuUI
Johnson was a model player off of the field too. He always took time to volunteer and give back to the community, and he even earned himself the distinction of being a member of the Sun Belt Leadership team in his senior year.
He was taken from this world at all too young of an age, but Johnson's legacy of kindness and leadership will never be forgotten.
