Everything You Need to Know About Top NBA Draft Prospect Sekou Doumbouya
By Jerry Trotta

The 2019 NBA Draft is just hours way and while this particular class has been considered extremely top-heavy my most pundits, hidden gems are almost always found in the mid-to-late first round. And that's exactly where most projections have French prospect Sekou Doumbouya falling. Let's closer examine the Limoges standout and see what makes him such an intriguing player.
Sekou Doumbouya Stats
Sekou emerged at a young age through the ranks of French basketball. At just 14 years old, he averaged 10.2 points and 3.3 rebounds per game with Centre Federal Du Basket-ball. From there, Doumbouya enjoyed a breakout tournament at the 2016 FIBA U-18 European Championship, averaging a shade under 18 points and 7 rebounds.
Eventually, he made the move to France's First Division with EuroCup club Limoges in 2018. Sekou was tallying just 7.6 points and 3.2 rebounds per game while still adapting to the league but rebounded in a strong way after recovering from thumb surgery.
Projected lottery pick, Sekou Doumbouya saved his best showing for late in the season when he scored 34 points versus Levallois in a French ProA match. At 6'9", Doumbouya possesses prototypical size, length and athleticism. He also shows promise as an outside shooter. Très bien! pic.twitter.com/pDYnFfYDd6

Those mouth-watering measurables project Doumbouya's defensive versatility to effortlessly translate to the NBA. He can switch, block shots, close out, and defend the post. When all is said and done, he could reasonably defend four positions -- a dynamic that isn't presently prevalent in the Association.
Patience is required for Sekou but he is a risk worth taking.
