Eloy Jimenez Can’t Stop Comparing White Sox Stud Luis Robert to Mike Trout

Luis Robert hasn't even taken a major league at-bat yet, but he's already drawing comparisons to the great player in the show.

Chicago White Sox teammate Eloy Jimenez, who broke into the bigs last year, has had nothing but good things to say about Robert throughout the offseason, frequently likening the White Sox prospect to Los Angeles Angels superstar Mike Trout.

"He's really good. He's been working really hard," said Jimenez. "Like I've said before, he's going to be the next Mike Trout."

It's certainly a bold claim to say that Robert will be just as good as a three-time MVP who's just entering his prime, but then again, it's easy to see why Jimenez thinks so highly of him.

Robert was a force of nature in the minor leagues last year. He started the year at High-A and ended it at Triple-A, slugging 32 home runs and posting a monster 1.001 OPS along the way. Power isn't even close to his whole game, however. The 22-year-old outfielder also swiped 36 bags in his prolific campaign.

Even for the minors, those are eye-popping numbers, and they're part of the reason why Robert enters the season as the No. 3 overall prospect in baseball. He's a five-tool player that has ridiculous power and speed the likes of which doesn't come around very often.

While his potential is virtually endless, already comparing him to Mike Trout is an extremely bold acclamation from Jimenez.
