Edwin Encarnacion Provides Update on Timetable for Return From IL
By Karl Rasmussen

The Yankees are in a bit of a rut, once again having several key members of their lineup dealing with injuries. Edwin Encarnacion is the latest Yankee to hit the IL after suffering a fractured wrist when hit by a pitch.
Well, the team has provided a timetable for his return, estimating that the slugger could be back within 3-5 weeks, barring any setbacks.
Edwin Encarnacion said he hopes to be back in three weeks. He said that he was told it will take 3-5 weeks.

That's a very hopeful timetable for a serious injury like the one he suffered, but Encarnacion seems to simply be reporting what he's been told.
With Luke Voit already on the IL, Encarnacion's absence will hurt the Yankees more than usual. Hopefully that timetable is accurate and they could have him back on the field by early September.
Prior to game 2 of today’s doubleheader, the Yankees placed 1B/DH Edwin Encarnación on the 10-day IL with a right wrist fracture and recalled 1B Mike Ford (#74) from @swbrailriders.

After placing Encarnacion on the IL, the Yankees promoted Mike Ford back to the big leagues, where he'll likely be a rotational option at first base.
