Edwin Diaz suffers season-ending knee injury at WBC

This is heartbreaking news for New York Mets fans. Matter of fact, this is a bummer for the baseball community as a whole. On Wednesday night, Edwin Diaz was celebrating a big win for Puerto Rico at the World Baseball Classic.
However, things ended in awful fashion. Diaz suffered a serious knee injury, and he couldn't walk off of the field by himself. It has since been announced that he'll be out for the entire MLB campaign. Just brutal.
New York Mets closer Edwin Díaz tore the patellar tendon in his right knee during the celebration after Puerto Rico’s WBC victory against the Dominican Republic. He will need surgery and is expected to miss the season.

Diaz is one of the best closers in the bigs and a large piece of the Mets puzzle. Fans all over Queens are incredibly sad right now and it's easy to see why.
