VIDEO: Edge Returns From Retirement in 2020 WWE Royal Rumble
By Scott Rogust

Back in 2011, WWE superstar Edge retired due to a potentially life-threatening neck injury. His appearance and use of his finishing move, the Spear, at this past year's SummerSlam hinted at a potential return. On Sunday, the "Rated R Superstar" officially returned to the ring for the Royal Rumble match.

That noise you heard was the millions of adult males simultaneously screaming at the top of their lungs. And for very good reason.
After defending the World Heavyweight Championship back at WrestleMania 27, Edge suddenly announced his retirement, due to doctors failing to give him clearance to compete in the ring. In fact, medical experts said he could die if he were to wrestle again.

He'd appear here and there over the past eight years, but he couldn't get into any physical action. Until Sunday.
The Royal Rumble match is always bound for a few surprises, but nothing compared to seeing Edge return. Now, he's back, and looks better than ever.
