Eagles TE Richard Rodgers Carted off Practice Field With Apparent Injury
By Michael Luciano

The big comeback season for former Green Bay Packers tight end Richard Rodgers could be put on hold indefinitely following what appears to be a serious leg injury.
Rodgers, now with the Philadelphia Eagles, collapsed to the ground while holding his left leg at practice on Monday. After being consoled by head coach Doug Pederson, Rodgers was carted off of the field.
Eagles TE Richard Rodgers upset as he’s carted off the field. He went down during team drills. Pederson hugged him as he went onto cart.

Drafted in the third round, 98th overall, in the 2014 NFL draft out of Cal, Rodgers provided an athletic safety blanket for fellow Cal Golden Bear and quarterback Aaron Rodgers. His finest season came in 2015, when he piled up 510 yards and eight touchdown receptions.

Rodgers played in only seven games for the Eagles last season, making just one catch for seven yards.
His most famous moment in the NFL is being on the receiving end of an Aaron Rodgers Hail Mary in the "Miracle in Motown" win over the Lions.

Rodgers was going to be relegated to backup duty at best behind Zach Ertz in Philadelphia, but his loss is still a major blow for an offense that values athleticism and uses the tight end in the passing game frequently.
