Eagles Signing Philly Native Will Parks to Step in for Malcolm Jenkins is a Total Feel-good Move

How do you replace a guy like Malcolm Jenkins who came to consider Philadelphia home? Easy -- you sign a guy who's literally from Philly. On Saturday, the Eagles reportedly inked safety Will Parks, formerly of the Denver Broncos, to a one-year contract.

Strike another need off the list for Howie Roseman and Co.

Jenkins, whom the Eagles surely considered either a bit too expensive or in need of too many guaranteed years, moved on to the Saints on the heels of Philadelphia's big trade for star Lions cornerback Darius Slay. The Eagles still had to address the safety position, of course, and are backing Parks to do big things despite his somewhat inconsistent reputation.

Parks has never started more than seven games in a season, with a total of just 15 starts in four years as a pro. Even so, the former Arizona Wildcat is just 25 yeas old, and Doug Pederson's Eagles clearly think he's got more to offer than he showed at Mile High.

Because if he doesn't, Philadelphia may end up with a problem at the back end of their defense. Until then, of course, it's feel-good city with this native son coming back to the City of Brotherly Love.
