Eagles Sign Army OT Brett Toth Following Military Waiver
By Michael Luciano

It appears the Philadelphia Eagles may have signed the next Alejandro Villanueva.
Army Second Lieutenant Brett Toth, who made his name as one of the top Group of Five offensive lineman in the country, has received a military waiver that will delay his mandatory service in order to sign a three-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Former Army OT Brett Toth was given a military waiver today and now will sign a three-year deal to play for the Philadelphia Eagles, per his agent Alan Herman.

President Donald Trump said in May that he will allow graduates from service academies to receive deferment waivers to play for pro sports teams. Minnesota Vikings long snapper and former Air Force Falcon Austin Cutting was the first player to defer his service under this new policy.
Cutting, Villanueva, and Seattle Seahawks wide receiver and former Navy record-setting QB Keenan Reynolds are the only active players in the NFL from service academies.
Toth, who was a stud run blocker for Jeff Monken's Black Knights, became the first player from the United States Military Academy to be invited to the Senior Bowl. Toth impressed at the combine, but went undrafted due to his service requirement scaring teams away.
The #Eagles already strong OT depth chart just got better with the Brett Toth signing.

Toth is a very intriguing developmental tackle with the traits that Howie Roseman looks for. Here is my report on him out of college: pic.twitter.com/zNzlNqfOe0
There was a lot to like about Toth as a prospect, and he should remain an intriguing developmental piece for Doug Pederson's Eagles.
