Philadelphia Eagles rookie running back Miles Sanders has been sidelined during the team's OTA's thus far. It wasn't clear as to why he wasn't taking part in camp, as the team hadn't specified what was holding him back.

Wednesday morning, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that Sanders' on-field absence was due to a hamstring injury. But luckily for Eagles fans, the ailment doesn't seem too serious and he could be back on the field as early as Wednesday's practice.

Sanders sitting out for OTA's isn't ideal, mostly because he's a rookie and could use every rep he can get to learn the offense. It's fortunate that Sanders' hamstring injury isn't considered overly serious as he looks to play a big role in Philly's offense this year.

Hamstrings can be a tricky injury though, especially for running backs, so Doug Pederson should proceed with caution when it comes time for Sanders to take the field again.

Once the Birds backfield is at full strength, they'll be hard to stop. The duo of Jordan Howard and Sanders should be a exciting to watch all season, while Corey Clement and Wendell Smallwood will be anxiously awaiting opportunities to hit the field and make an impact. Sanders' versatility and quickness is the perfect complement to Howard's north-south running style.

Hopefully, we'll get to see this duo in action before the end of OTA's, as Eagles fans are dying to catch a glimpse of what the former Penn State star can bring to the table in 2019.
