Eagles Place RB Corey Clement on Injured Reserve
By Karl Rasmussen

The injury bug continues to bite in the Eagles' backfield.
The Eagles have placed running back Corey Clement on Injured Reserve as he nurses a shoulder injury which has limited him to four games of action this year, despite the initial belief that he'd only miss a brief period of time.

The team is already without veteran running back Darren Sproles, who suffered a strained quadriceps in Week 5. Philly was hoping Clement could stand in and take over punt returning duties for the team, but it seems his shoulder injury hasn't improved, resulting in him landing on the IR.
With Clement heading to IR, and quite possibly missing the rest of the season, the Eagles have dipped into the practice squad to promote Boston Scott to the active roster.

The former 2018 sixth-round pick has appeared in two games in his NFL career, with all of his action coming as a returner. That's likely the role he'll occupy in Philly as well for Week 6.
Throughout his career, Clement has logged 142 rushes for 580 yards and six touchdowns. He saw his role in the offense get stripped down following the team's decision to draft Miles Sanders and bring in Jordan Howard this offseason.
Now the team will have to make a decision on whether they want to activate Clement after his eight-week absence, though based on his usage, it seems unlikely.
