Eagles LB Kamu Grugier-Hill Suffers MCL Sprain Which Could Sideline Him into Regular Season
By Michael Luciano

After losing Jordan Hicks to the Arizona Cardinals in free agency, the Philadelphia Eagles' linebacking corps might be even more shorthanded when the season starts thanks to an injury to one of their projected starters.
Kamu Grugier-Hill, who was projected to start after three seasons as a special teams player and backup linebacker, suffered a Grade 3 MCL sprain in practice. The injury is all but certain to end KGH's preseason, and could force the former sixth round pick to miss some games early in the regular season.
#Eagles LB Kamu Grugier-Hill suffered a Grade 3 MCL sprain in practice today, sources say. That’s not the best news but also not the worst for the projected starter who has been impressive of late. He’ll likely miss some regular-season time but should be back relatively early.

After being selected in the sixth round out of Eastern Illinois by the New England Patriots in the 2016 draft, Grugier-Hill was cut before the season began, but latched on with Philly.
While he won a ring and earned playing time as a solid special teamer in his first two years, Grugier-Hil proved he can be an every-down linebacker at this level last year, when he piled up 45 tackles and a sack while starting 10 games in Jim Schwartz's defense.

A camp star who figured to make the leap into quality starter this year, Grugier-Hill's injury could be tough for the Eagles to swallow as the season starts.
