The Philadelphia Eagles reportedly have interest in trading for Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Yannick Ngakoue. The young star has made it clear he wants out of Jacksonville, but the team still opted to place the franchise tag on the 24 year old.

The Eagles already acquired defensive back Darius Slay and are clearly looking to bolster the defense heading into 2020. Carson Wentz's salary is doubling in 2021, but the cap should go up and the team can make a few other moves to allow for a major Ngakoue extension.

The defensive end has no desire to be a Jaguar. That means the team has to act fast and the Eagles could even shed a bad contract in the move. A potential trade would have the Eagles sending their 2020 first-round pick, a 2021 third-round pick, and Alshon Jeffery in exchange for Ngakoue. Jeffery and the Eagles are not a great fit and he is set to earn $15.7 million in 2020 and $18.5 million in 2021.

Moving Jeffery's money would also allow the Eagles to work to reach an extension with Ngakoue to lock him down in Philly for the long haul. If Philly comes with this type of offer for the Jaguars, they'd have a tough time turning it down.
