Before the 2019 NFL season got started, the Philadelphia Eagles were among the top Super Bowl contenders. Today, they lost to the Miami Dolphins to fall to 5-7 for the year, with their playoff chances growing slimmer by the week.

In lieu of their incredibly disappointing 37-31 loss to a team that's considered to be one of the worst in the NFL, a bunch of Eagles fans started an online petition to force their team to walk back home from Miami to Philadelphia.

According to Google Maps, it's a 1,271-mile walk from Hard Rock Stadium to Lincoln Financial Field. Get your sticks and bandanas ready, guys!

In all seriousness, this has been a dismal campaign for the Eagles, who were expected to compete for the NFC East title along with the Dallas Cowboys. They're still somehow in the hunt by nature of the atrocious state of the division, but their chances at winning the division took a huge hit with this loss.

Carson Wentz actually had a pretty good day, throwing for 310 yards and three touchdowns; however, he was outplayed just a bit by veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick, who threw for 365 yards with three touchdowns. DeVante Parker had a field day, with seven catches for 159 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Perhaps Eagles fans should excuse Wentz from making this walk, but otherwise, they have a good reason to be mad at the state of their team. In fact, they're still burning Wentz jerseys even though he was far from the reason they lost today.
