Eagles Canceled Practice on Wednesday and Nobody Knows Why
By Jerry Trotta

A truly perplexing storyline has recently formulated in the City of Brotherly Love on Wednesday.
Fans and pundits were clamoring for a post-practice report/update on the status of quarterback Carson Wentz, who was forced to leave Sunday night's game against the Falcons at the stroke of halftime, before he ultimately returned late in the drive.
The #Eagles said that they forgot to include Carson Wentz on the updated schedule and that he will be talking during open locker room instead of at the usual podium. https://t.co/C373swz5sE

But there was only one problem: the Philadelphia Eagles did NOT practice on Wednesday, a concept that is literally unheard of in the NFL during the early stages of the season, with a game looming on Sunday.
The change is because the #Eagles have cancelled practice for Wednesday, which I can’t recall ever happening for a Sunday game after a Sunday game.

Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer provided an update, stating that the Eagles are just having a walkthrough session on Wednesday, instead.

It's still genuinely bewildering. Wednesdays are renowned as the most vigorous session of the week's slate of practices. It separates the banged up from the healthy and gives head coaches a good idea as to who can play, and at what gear, on Sunday.
Per NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the reasoning rests on the injury front, as well as a short week that follows this one.
On the #Eagles: Instead of a full-blown practice, they’ll have a walk-through today in part because of injuries and in part because they have a Thursday game next week. They’ve done this some in the past, as well, including late last season.

Stay tuned for updates, folks. This is a developing story.
