Colin Kaepernick's name is back at the forefront of pop culture and the NFL world. The former quarterback has been out of the league since 2016 and it is clear he was blackballed for kneeling during the national anthem.

Things can change fast in society and to that point, kneeling during the anthem isn't as offensive to some as it once was. That makes Kaepernick far less controversial and individuals from Roger Goodell to Donald Trump have said that the veteran QB deserves another shot. Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson weighed in on the possibility of his team giving the quarterback a look.

Few teams are going to outright say they would never consider Kaepernick. Pederson takes the more political approach and says he wouldn't completely rule out the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback. Does he say he wants to sign him? No, but this is more than what was being said about him in the past few years.

There are going to be a lot of empty words about signing Kaepernick. Pederson mentions how he wouldn't be opposed to bringing him in as a backup. The problem with that is the quarterback has been available for several years and no one has signed him. That shows that public pressure may be pushing this newfound desire to see Kaepernick back in the league.

Pederson mentions he'll "look at all possibilities" when it comes to bringing in quarterback help. Getting Kaepernick back on the list is one baby step that shows some progress in the NFL. A team actually signing him or bringing him in for a real workout will show if these are all empty sentiments or if the NFL has finally dropped its crusade against someone who started a movement.
