Josh Gordon's reinstatement from the NFL was a major boost for the Patriots, but it seems not everyone is too happy to see the wide receiver back with the team.

According to reports, New England wideout Dontrelle Inman has requested his release from the team, which was granted by the organization.

Inman was hoping to get some targets this season, especially considering the lack of depth the Pats had at wideout.

Gordon's reinstatement dramatically reduced the role Inman would have had in 2019, and for a player still fighting for snaps on offense, getting bumped down the depth chart was the last thing he needed.

Inman only joined the Patriots back in March, so his tenure with the team was incredibly short-lived.

Last season, Inman played in nine games for the Indianapolis Colts. The 30-year-old reeled in 28 receptions for 304 yards and 3 touchdowns, averaging 10.9 yards per catch.

He was likely hoping to get some opportunity to play alongside one of the game's best in Tom Brady, but now he'll be searching for a new team.
