Donald Trump Uses Miracle on Ice Hockey Stars for Strange Moment at Friday Rally
By Sean Facey

Sports and politics will forever be intertwined, and that's especially true for the players from famous "Miracle on Ice" United States hockey team that toppled the Soviet Union in the 1980 Winter Olympics 40 years ago on Saturday.
But in an incredibly awkward moment at a Donald Trump rally, stars from the team were called on stage for seemingly no reason other than to stroke his ego.
Trump calls up Miracle on Ice hero Mike Eruzione, stopping himself while trying to say his last name.

After Eruzione speaks, Trump says, "Just tell them: am I a good athlete and am I a good golfer?"
Eruzione thinks a moment and says, "You are. Yes, sir. Whatever you say."
In particular, Trump asked team captain Mike Eruzione, whose name he struggled to pronounce, if the Commander in Chief was a good athlete. Eruzione simply replied by saying "You are. Yes, sir. Whatever you say."
Eruzione has been a vocal supporter of the President in the past, and he was wearing one of the notorious "MAGA" hats.

It seems like the interaction between the two served absolutely no purpose. It was nothing more than a simple celebrity endorsement to make the President feel better about himself.
Then again, it's nothing out of the ordinary for Trump. His rallies are known for being unpredictable and producing odd moments like this one, so this is just another drop in the bucket.
