On Thursday morning, former University of Miami standout and current Miami Dolphins defensive tackle Kendrick Norton was involved in a serious car accident, the team announced.

Obviously, this is a scary situation, but it's not believed to be life threatening. However, there's already speculation his injuries could be career-ending.

Officials have yet to release information on the accident, or the extent of Norton's injuries.

In three seasons with the Miami Hurricanes, Norton put together 84 tackles, 18 tackles for loss, five sacks and one forced fumble.

Norton was claimed by the Dolphins late last year, and was placed on the 53-man roster, where he was expected to compete for a job on the defensive line this year. Now, there's a chance that he could never play again.

Stay tuned for further information on his situation as more updates are released. For now, Dolphins fans can only hope he'll be able to make a full comeback from this worrisome incident.
