One of the most underrated parts about The Last Dance on ESPN is the fact that celebrities and athletes live tweet throughout the Michael Jordan documentary. After all, what else is there to do? With Sunday night’s two episodes focusing on Jordan’s decision to retire from the Bulls the first time and play for the White Sox, baseball Twitter could not get enough of His Airness.

Due to the fact that Bulls/White Sox owner Jerry Reinsdorf’s rookie ball and Single-A stadiums could not hold the press that would be covering the new White Sox rookie, Reinsdorf decided to put Jordan directly into the fire at Double-A Birmingham. For not playing the game for almost 15 years of his life, Jordan did relatively well in Double-A by batting over .200 with 51 RBI on the season. Even Dodgers pitcher Walker Buehler was impressed with the feat.

Granted, Buehler is a pitcher, but he is still commending Jordan for making the transition to minor-league baseball. With his constant work ethic to get better at anything he did, Jordan made the physical transition from being an everyday basketball player to an everyday baseball player at the age of 31.

While Buehler’s response was timely, the reply from his teammate Justin Turner with his assessment of the LA pitcher was even better.

Everyone wanted their chance to get close to Jordan. What if he actually saw the baseball thing all the way through and kept improving? Maybe Buehler would have had to adjust his tweet to an even higher average.
