Dodgers' Star Max Muncy Placed on 10-Day IL With Right Wrist Fracture
By Karl Rasmussen

The Los Angeles Dodgers are aiming to be the MLB's best team by season's end, but they may have to trudge on without a key contributor for a while.
Max Muncy underwent an MRI on his right wrist Friday morning, and per Alanna Rizzo, the slugger has suffered a small fracture or crack.
He's been placed on the 10-day IL, retroactive to Aug. 28.
An MRI this AM revealed Max Muncy has a small fracture/crack in his right wrist. No definitive time table for return but he’s hopeful it’s just 1-2 weeks. He still has swelling & an internal contusion. Can’t do much until that clears up.

Muncy hopes to be back within a week or two, though he could certainly miss more time than that if the team opts to play it safe with the 29-year-old.
He picked up the injury on Wednesday after being hit by a pitch against the Padres and has not featured in the lineup since, and now likely won't until mid-September.
Max Muncy said an MRI exam this morning revealed “a crack” in his right wrist. He called it “average” news based on the worst-case scenario. He said he thinks he could be back within a week or two.

On the year, Muncy is slashing .253/.375/.525 with 33 home runs and 87 RBI. His batting average has dipped of late, however, sitting at just .188 over his past 11 games.
Hopefully he's able to recuperate quickly from his wrist ailment and get back on the diamond soon, but there's no use in rushing him ahead of the ultimate push in October. Further aggravating the injury would be a worst-case scenario for L.A.
