The Los Angeles Dodgers could be getting more reinforcements back very soon, as shortstop Corey Seager will begin a rehab assignment on Friday for Single-A Rancho Cucamonga.

Seager suffered a hamstring injury back in June. There was some talk about the Dodgers shortstop coming back without a rehab assignment, but obviously they decided to get him some game time before coming back after the All-Star break.

Seager will be joining teammate A.J. Pollock down in High-A, as he began his rehab assignment on Thursday. Pollock has been out since May after undergoing exploratory surgery to find out what caused the infection in his right elbow.

The 25-year-old shortstop has played in 66 games this season, slashing .278/.359/.468 with 29 extra-base hits (eight home runs) and 38 RBI.

There's no need for Seager to come back this weekend before the break, as the Dodgers are rolling and possess the best record in baseball (60-29), while also having the NL West locked up despite just beginning the month of July.
