Remember Chris Foerster? Yes, that guy. The one who was the offensive line coach for the Dolphins riiiiight up until a video was leaked in 2017 depicting him snorting a powdery white substance alleged to have been cocaine.

Naturally, his time with Miami was immediately kaput. He hasn't been seen anywhere near the NFL since-- until now. Per ESPN's Jenna Laine, he's been assisting the 49ers coaching staff this offseason.

Foerster first worked in the NFL in 1993 when he joined the Vikings to coach tight ends and assist with the offensive line. Now 57 years old, he's certainly been around the block. But it's still a bit interesting to see him back in the league under apparent secrecy.

Indeed, his name and photo are nowhere on the 49ers' official website, and his hiring wasn't accompanied by any official press release or social media post.

Everyone loves a redemption story, and Foerster is surely being kept on a reasonably short leash by Kyle Shanahan and Co. But now that the cat's out of the bag on his hiring, expect questions to be asked about just what his role is out in Santa Clara, and how it came to be.
