The protests taking place throughout the nation and several countries around the globe in response to the murder of George Floyd will hopefully help incite change as it pertains to weeding out racism in the United States.

A multitude of star athletes have been seen leading this movement in their respective hometowns, and this prompted Dez Bryant to take to Twitter on Sunday night to call upon Jerry and Stephen Jones, as well as former Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witten, to join the peaceful demonstrations in Austin, Texas.

It doesn't take a football diehard to realize how significant the Jones' are in Texas. Folks seeing them take part in the George Floyd protests would really echo the statement delivered by commissioner Roger Goodell last week in which he declared his commitment to the Black Lives Matter movement.

The former Cowboys wide receiver's message managed to prompt a response from Witten. Though the 11-time Pro Bowler didn't specifically note if he would join the protests, he made it clear where he stands on racial injustice and "impacting change."

It's not yet been made public if Jerry and Stephen Jones reached out to Bryant, but it goes without saying that their participation would send a powerful message to the rest of the league and could even coax some other front office executives to follow their lead. It's only right that the NFL uses its monster brand for the greater good, and right now nothing is more important than speaking out against racial oppression.
