DeVante Parker Thinking He Can Talk Trash After One Good Season is Hilarious

Like many skill position players freed from Adam Gase, Miami Dolphins receiver DeVante Parker had his best season as soon as he was separated from the Jets' head man last year, compiling 1,202 yards and nine touchdowns.

Parker's newfound confidence landed him in a vitriolic Instagram confrontation with New Orleans Saints superstar Michael Thomas on Monday night. While Parker did have some solid retorts, Thomas correctly chose to end the argument by claiming that Parker "can't even get a seat at the table," implying that Parker is nowhere near the caliber of receiver he is.

As harsh as it sounds, Thomas is right. Parker seems to have forgotten that before 2019, he was coming off of the worst season of his career and was headed straight for bust territory.

Not only is Parker trying to trash-talk the first wide receiver since Jerry Rice to win Offensive Player of the Year, but he's doing so after putting up fewer catches, and the same amount of touchdowns, that Thomas had in his rookie season, which was statistically his poorest season.

Parker had an excellent season despite poor quarterback play, but he isn't on Thomas' level just yet.

Parker, like many others around the league, might not like how Thomas routinely lashes out on social media, but a guy with one 1,000-yard season is not going to win an argument with a guy who just set the record for catches in a single season. Maybe sit this one out, DeVante.
