The Patriots have locked up up their treasured veteran receiver after it was reportedly earlier on Tuesday that New England had reached an agreement on a contract extension with Julian Edelman.
The details for the 32-year-old's deal with the Pats have reportedly emerged.
WR Julian Edelman has signed a two-year extension with the Patriots (through 2021), as first reported by @MikeGarafolo. The extension includes an $8 million signing bonus and $12 million guaranteed, per a source.

Not too bad for the 10-year veteran.
Over the course of Edelman's tenure with the Patriots, which includes three rings and a Super Bowl MVP, his value to the team and especially to quarterback Tom Brady is unquestionable. Now, Edelman is getting rewarded with a hefty two-year deal that will likely take him to the end of his career.
Edelman's coming off an incredible year in which he racked up 850 receiving yards (despite missing the first four games of the season) and earned his first Super Bowl MVP award.
The #Patriots are giving WR Julian Edelman a two-year extension, source said, potentially taking him to the end of his career and allowing him to retire in New England. A well-deserved raise, too.

It's clear the Patriots want Edelman in Foxborough for the rest of his career and they'll likely get that now that he won't become a free agent until after the 2021 season.
