Dana White was determined to ensure the show went on as it pertains to UFC 249, so much so that he was willing to purchase a private island to host the fights.

White's second plan, specifically for UFC 249, was to stage the event on tribal land in California. Despite all of his efforts, they were for naught as ESPN/Disney stepped in to give White a piece of their mind. Evidently, those persuasions were enough to change White's mind for now.

UFC fighter Derrick Lewis found this particularly funny, and shared a perfect reaction to the news.

Lewis is one of the best personalities in UFC, so he'll get away with poking a little fun at White's expense.

Frankly, he's right, even if this attempt to shed some light on the situation wasn't so subtle. Disney and ESPN own more than just some of the broadcast rights for UFC. They're not afraid to throw around their clout when necessary.

White insists that 'Fight Island' is still in the works, and the sport will return soon. For now, though, Lewis will get his laughs in.
