The Tennessee Titans fanbase was thrown into a state of complete confusion when star running back and pending free agent Derrick Henry proclaimed that the 6-year, $90 million contract extension Ezekiel Elliott got last offseason was "the floor" as it pertains to his next deal.

However, Henry later helped ease the nerves of Titans fans when he claimed that he wants to stay in Tennessee and he hopes that the Titans don't let him test free agency.

Henry, who led the league in carries, rushing yards, and rushing touchdowns in his first season under new offensive coordinator Arthur Smith, did say that he's keeping his options open, however.

For as amazing as Ryan Tannehill and Mike Vrabel were, Henry was clearly the heartbeat of this team and this offense. Letting the 6-3, 245-pound tractor walk in free agency could be a mistake that prevents the Titans from capturing the magic that took down Tom Brady and Lamar Jackson in back-to-back games.

Jon Robinson and the Titans keep a tighter grip on their wallet than the likes of Jerry Jones, but they would be doing an excellent team and devoted fanbase a disservice if they let Henry leave town this offseason.
