Deondre Francois Announces Transfer to FAU to Play for Lane Kiffin
By Charles Nason

Nearly three months after being dismissed by Florida State, quarterback Deondre Francois has reportedly found a new home.
After two years as a starter for the Seminoles, Francois was dismissed from the program for a domestic incident involving him and his girlfriend. Head coach Willie Taggart announced the dismissal of Francois from the school's program back in February.
At long last, Francois has revealed where he plans to play next, and it looks like he'll be joining a prestigious head coach while staying in the state of Florida. Francois is set to join Lane Kiffin at Florida Atlantic University.

Looking to put this incident behind him and soak up his two remaining years of NCAA eligibility, Francois will get a fresh start under Kiffin. He played two full seasons at Florida State across three seasons, accumulating 36 touchdown passes to 21 interceptions. He played just one game in 2017 after suffering a season-ending injury.
Now, Francois has the chance to claim the starting position at FAU. The Owls' 2018 starting quarterback Chris Robison is currently under suspension from the team for a sexual assault accusation. The program also has transfer quarterbacks Nick Tronti and Justin Agner along with redshirt freshmen Cordel Littlejohn.
With major uncertainties under center for Kiffin and the Owls, Francois will be given every opportunity to compete for the starting role.

The Owls' 5-7 finish in the 2018 season left the program looking for a fresh start. Perhaps Francois can elevate this team back to the 11-3 mark they achieved in 2017.
