The Denver Broncos have been in a slump ever since the team won Super Bowl 50, aka Peyton Manning's swan song. That's thanks in part to general manager John Elway's brutal decision-making over the years, specifically in regards to the QB position (i.e. trading for Joe Flacco, selecting Paxton Lynch, etc.). But now, the Broncos finally look to be on the upswing, thanks to their incredible NFL Draft.

Considering there were a vast amount of offensive players added to the roster, someone has to be shown the door. That unfortunate individual could be wide receiver DaeSean Hamilton.

The former 2018 fourth-round pick hasn't made the impact that Elway and Co. thought he would. He took an immediate backseat to the Emmanuel Sanders and Courtland Sutton, where he wasn't able to escape their shadows. In his two NFL seasons, Hamilton caught 58-of-97 targets for 540 yards and three touchdowns.

While many would argue his lack of production was due to quarterback play, Sutton, in comparison, did great things with Case Keenum throwing the ball his way. There's no excuses for Hamilton.

Hamilton's job security took a massive hit once the Broncos selected Alabama's Jerry Jeudy, Penn State's KJ Hamler, and Florida's Tyrie Cleveland in the draft. Jeudy and Hamler immediately supplant Hamilton on the depth chart due to their supreme skill-sets, effectively making him the No. 4 receiver on the team. What hurts his case of staying in Denver is the fact that he's only played one special teams snap in his entire career. That does him no favors.

While it's difficult to give up on a young talent like Hamilton after two years, the Broncos simply don't have room for him. Denver would actually be doing Hamilton a favor by releasing him before the start of the regular season, and allow him to catch on elsewhere.
