DeMarcus Lawrence Calls for Cowboys Fans to Boycott Madden Over 89 Rating

DeMarcus Lawrence has already established himself as one of the best pass rushers in all of football. However, the two-time Pro-Bowler will have some extra motivation to become even more of a world-beater heading into the 2019 campaign.

As most of you are aware by now, the Madden 20 ratings dropped on Monday, and to say that they warranted some controversy would be understating it. And the case was no different for the Boise State product.

Lawrence received an 89 rating despite compiling 25 sacks over the last two seasons. That rating stands as merely the SIXTH-best among DE's in the EA Sports killer app's latest edition. In response, Tank elected to rally Cowboys Nation on Twitter to boycott the video game.

He then proceeded to share a tweet that compared his stats to those of JJ Watt's, who was gifted with a 97 rating. And the graphic reveals that Lawrence has been more productive across the board than the Texans superstar over the last three seasons.

Is calling the Cowboys' fan base to spurn the game a little dramatic? Absolutely. But football fans are truly crazy about Madden, and NFL players themselves are about as competitive and prideful as they come.

Of course, it's a testament to Lawrence's competitive edge that has fueled his growth into one of the NFL's best at his position. And he has the power to prove the designers at EA Sports terribly, horribly wrong with a dominating season that speaks for itself.
