DeMarcus Cousins Reportedly Told DeMar DeRozan He's Interested in Signing With the Spurs

How come no one told us that we needed a DeMarcus Cousins-San Antonio Spurs marriage in our lives? Could this actually end up happening?
Earlier this week, Woj dropped a bit of a bomb on us, as he said the market for Boogie right now is basically non-existent. You're telling me no one wants an All-Star big man? Yes, I know all about his injury past, but still, the man can ball and there are several teams in the league who could do a lot worse than taking a chance on a one-year deal for Cousins.
Well, perhaps we'll need to leave it to Gregg Popovich to remind us Cousins still has plenty left in the tank, as the free agent has reportedly informed DeMar DeRozan he's interested in joining him over in the Lone Star State.

After missing most of this past season following his torn Achilles, Cousins was able to fight his way back to the court and averaged 16.3 points and 8.2 rebounds a game for the Warriors. His quadriceps injury that he picked up in the playoffs likely hurt his chances at signing a big deal this offseason, but he's still a more than serviceable big man.
You're telling me those numbers aren't good enough for a new deal? Especially when considering he was playing third or fourth fiddle to a handful of Warriors stars.
According to @wojespn, there’s currently no market for DeMarcus Cousins. Not even for a mid-level exception.

Someone will eventually swoop Boogie up. He's just too damn good not to be given at least a one-year contract. Let's not forget that he made five consecutive All-Star teams from 2014-18. He was a consistent 25-point, 10-rebound machine, and can even splash the 3-ball at an effective clip for a big man.
And now that we know he's interested in a move to San Antonio, perhaps the Spurs can try to land him on a discount. Someone will take a chance on him, so why not Popovich and Co?
